Ford has revealed the Megazilla 2.0 crate engine at SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas, showcasing it in the Frostwarden, a one-off Bronco built with search-and-rescue use in mind. The supercharged 7.3-liter V-8 produces more than 1,200 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque, according to the details provided for the reveal.

The engine builds on Ford’s 7.3-liter V-8 crate-engine lineup, with a stronger block, upgraded pistons, larger fuel injectors, revised belt-drive components and damper, and a supercharger-specific camshaft. It works with a 3.0-liter Gen 6 Whipple supercharger.

The Frostwarden pairs the engine with a 74Weld portal lift kit and 42-inch BFGoodrich tires on custom 18-inch Weld beadlock wheels. Dana driveline hardware and custom Bilstein dampers are also part of the build.

Its black-and-yellow exterior features a wide stance and rescue equipment, including off-road lights, an external rear-mounted fuel tank, a roof-mounted spare tire and a yellow front winch. The cabin carries matching yellow-and-black upholstery, with a Megazilla wordmark on the lower part of the steering wheel.

Ford describes the Frostwarden as a one-of-a-kind vehicle, while noting that the supercharged 7.3-liter engine is not limited to this build. The company says the Bronco demonstrates the potential for extreme projects powered by Ford crate engines.
