Peugeot has introduced an official camper conversion for the Rifter, developed with Spanish specialist Tinkervan. Based on the long-wheelbase version, the 4.7-metre van uses removable modules that let it serve as a family vehicle during the week and a camper at weekends.
Its Flexibed Sport system offers three layouts. In its standard configuration, the Rifter retains its rear seats and 850-litre boot. The module can be set up as a double bed using the boot and rear-seat area, or as a single bed while leaving a third of the rear space free for items such as bicycles or surfboards.
An optional pop-up roof, available with manual or electric operation, adds another double bed. With both sleeping areas installed, the Rifter can accommodate four adults overnight. When folded, the roof leaves enough headroom to stand inside.
Other camper features include swivelling front seats and a folding table that can form an indoor dining area. Optional equipment includes a kitchen unit, memory-foam mattresses, a wardrobe, blinds, a side awning, a 25-litre compressor fridge, a 500-watt inverter and an electric-pump shower. A diesel stationary heater is also available.
The conversion comes with a separate electrical system powered by a 100 Ah lithium auxiliary battery, supplying LED interior lighting, USB ports and 12-volt outlets. Stellantis announced prices from €32,000 before taxes for the camper Rifter with the Flexibed module.
