Bandit9, a Vietnam-based custom motorcycle shop known for creating unconventional machines, has revealed its latest project: the (RED) 800. This futuristic interpretation of the Ducati Monster features a striking red-to-brushed-aluminum finish and is priced at $49,900. The build is part of a collaboration with the nonprofit organization (RED), which supports efforts to combat AIDS and other preventable diseases.

The project follows an announcement made in July 2025, when Bandit9 planned to construct nine examples of this Ducati-powered creation. While the exterior resembles a vehicle from another planet, the mechanical core remains grounded in proven technology. The (RED) 800 is powered by Ducati's 821cc Testastretta V-twin engine, delivering a claimed 110 horsepower and 65.8 pound-feet of torque. Bandit9 lists the dry weight at 386 pounds, with performance figures including a top speed of 125 miles per hour and a zero-to-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds. The build also incorporates Sachs suspension, Brembo brakes with ABS, and a custom trellis frame.

Prospective buyers face a rigorous ordering process that requires a nonrefundable 50-percent deposit, totaling $24,950 upfront. Estimated build times range from eight to twelve months. Notably, Bandit9 explicitly states that road registration and regulatory compliance are not guaranteed, leaving potential owners to navigate local DMV requirements independently.

Despite the high cost and logistical uncertainties, the project includes a significant charitable component. Bandit9 pledges $14,000 from every sale to (RED). If all nine units are sold, the initiative could raise approximately $126,000 for the cause. While the shop has built custom machines for over a decade, lending credibility to the project, the practicality and roadworthiness of the final product remain to be seen once the builds are completed and independently tested.
