Fat Fender Garage has unveiled the GT/FX at SEMA, transforming a 1956 Ford F-100 into a modern sport truck. The Arizona restoration shop has extensively revised the vintage pickup’s body, cabin and underpinnings while preserving its original grille as a visual link to the classic model.

The steel body has a flatter hood and roof, wider front and rear fenders, and custom running boards that flow into the rear fenders. A front chin splitter and a rear diffuser adapted from a Mustang Shelby GT350 add a performance-inspired look. The bed has flared edges, and its tailgate opens at the push of a button. Carbon-fiber side mirrors, gray paint and an offset black racing stripe complete the exterior.

Power comes from a Gen 3 Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 fitted with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger. The engine produces 800 horsepower and 750 pound-feet of torque, and is paired with Ford’s 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission.

The truck rides on Fat Fender Garage’s FF1 Performance Coilover chassis, designed to give the classic-bodied pickup sporty handling. HRE wheels wear Toyo Proxes Sport 2 tires, with 315/35R-20 tires at the rear. Wilwood disc brakes use six-piston front calipers and four-piston units at the rear.

Inside, modern bucket seats sit alongside updated screens and controls integrated discreetly into the cabin. The GT/FX also features concealed climate-control vents, interior LED lighting and a modern audio system. Together, the changes recast the F-100 as a performance-focused truck while retaining its vintage styling.
