Range Rover’s Evoque and Velar are due to leave production in mid-2027, with the upcoming Range Rover GT set to take their place in the lineup. JLR told Car and Driver that both SUVs will remain on sale in selected global markets where demand is strong through 2027, while production ends as the company transitions its facilities to build next-generation vehicles.

The GT is expected to arrive as a 2028 model. Its starting price is estimated at around $90,000, compared with approximately $52,000 for the Evoque and $64,000 for the Velar. Replacing the two lower-priced models with the GT would significantly raise the cost of entry to the Range Rover brand.

The Evoque and Velar have accounted for about 6,000 U.S. sales so far in 2026, or roughly 10 percent of Land Rover’s U.S. sales volume for the year. JLR has not clarified whether the North American market will be among those where the SUVs remain available through 2027.

The Range Rover GT is described as a long, low, sedan-like vehicle with a minimalist interior and an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain. It is due to launch as an EV, though JLR says the platform can also accommodate gas and hybrid powertrains.

The change comes as JLR expands its electric offerings, including the Range Rover Electric and a forthcoming Range Rover Sport Electric. Defender and Discovery are expected to serve customers seeking models below the GT’s anticipated price. A smaller Defender Sport is reportedly in development, while a future Discovery Sport revival is also raised as a possibility in the source report.
